Collected

Personal project

2023

Since we can remember, we have both loved visiting thrift shops and flea markets. Browsing through random objects and curiosities at our leisure, not knowing what we will come across, always feels like a journey to an unknown destination. It stimulates our sense of wonder.

We collect objects that excite and inspire us, but often allow these to accumulate without an actual purpose. Many of those findings are stored at our studio. Some remain untouched and forgotten, but occasionally, after a passage of time, we look again, find ourselves rediscovering why we were intrigued by certain things, and these receive an opportunity to become something new.

We present four, lifelike objects, created from one of our findings; a dead-stock of vintage, artificial-plants parts. These precious, handcrafted pieces, are made of wire, paper, and resin.

With their delicate details, the organic compositions, highlight the subtle gradations of color, and slight variations of shape, while the intricate surfaces, exemplify a balance between the odd and the familiar.

The collected items transform into collectible objects.
